Our Very First Chariteam Event Wasn’t Just the Start of Our Journey — It Was Theirs Too

Some stories just glow brighter than others — and this one started with what we thought was a corporate team-building event in Switzerland.

We had everything ready: our SolarBuddy - Junior Buddy lights, our enthusiasm, and our mission to bring purpose and connection through sustainable events. Then we arrived… and noticed something unusual. Flowers. Champagne glasses. And a radiant couple in love.

That’s when it hit us: this wasn’t a company event at all — it was a wedding!

A Wedding That Truly Lit Up Lives

The groom had secretly booked our SolarBuddy experience as part of their big day instead of a company event. The bride, whose family comes from a developing country, immediately connected with the mission — helping children gain access to safe, sustainable light.

Instead of traditional wedding favors, the couple invited all their guests to assemble solar lamps together, turning their celebration into a wedding activity with real global impact.

The result? A joyful mix of elegant dresses, screwdrivers and the soft glow of dozens of newly assembled Solar Buddy lights — ready to travel to communities where light means opportunity. It was heartwarming, a little chaotic (in the best way!), and completely unforgettable. And since this was our brand-new company’s very first event, we certainly took it as a good sign! :)

A Bright Beginning in Switzerland

Our first Chariteam-building event with Solar Buddy in Switzerland couldn’t have been more special. It reminded us that team building doesn’t just belong in meeting rooms — it belongs wherever people come together.

To the wonderful couple — thank you for letting us share your day and for proving that love truly lights up the world. 🌍❤️
